Time Magick is a cross-platform time tracking and project communication platform built for modern teams. It offers accurate time logging, project-based messaging, and role-based login and access control to support different user responsibilities. Available on web, mobile (iOS & Android), and desktop, the platform keeps work, communication, and essential administrative tasks connected in one system.
Requirements
The client needed a centralized platform that could support different user roles such as admins, managers, and team members. The primary goal was to track employee work hours and manage project-level communication while enforcing clear access boundaries. The solution had to work consistently across web, mobile, and desktop, with support for invoicing and expense reimbursement features.
Challenges
Without role-based access, teams faced confusion over who could view, edit, or manage data. Time tracking and communication tools were fragmented, project discussions lacked structure, and managers had limited oversight. Introducing role-based permissions across multiple platforms while keeping the user experience simple required careful planning and consistent backend enforcement.
Solution
We built Time Magick with role-based logins at its core, ensuring that admins, managers, and team members each see and control only what’s relevant to them. Users log time and communicate inside project channels; managers review work and activity, and admins manage users, roles, and settings through the web dashboard. Expense and invoicing features were added to reduce reliance on external tools, all while maintaining consistent behavior across web, mobile, and desktop apps.
